High Speed Gearboxes

With the ever increasing demand for high speed applications as the speeds of electric motors and other drives increase, so the requirement for gearboxes capable of transmitting higher speeds has increased. This is particularly true for the testing of motors and transmissions for electric vehicles. Within the past few years, we have seen increasing demands for gearboxes capable of running at speeds up to 30,000 r/min. These speeds would not have been possible just a few years ago. However as gear, bearing and lubrication technology has improved Tandler now have the knowledge and ability to produce gearboxes to these extreme standards.

Our high speed gearboxes are designed and built to suit the requirements of each custom application, in collaboration with our customers, ensuring the gearbox is designed and built to withstand the speeds our customers are now demanding.

By adding a gearbox with a speed increasing or reducing ratio to a test rig system our customers benefit from being able to use existing equipment such as dynamometers and motors at higher speeds than they were first designed for. This allows for not only greater flexibility in a single test rig, but also reduces costs and lead times for our customers

High Torque Gearboxes

Our standard range of spiral bevel gearboxes have rated torques up to 10,000Nm, whilst this is sufficient for most applications there are times when much higher torque capacities are required.

This can be achieved by customising our standard gearboxes, perhaps with modified gears, bearings and shafts or the design and manufacture of custom designs for specific applications.

Generally, although not always, higher torque capacity gearboxes are used at lower speeds and we have the capability to produce both right angle and helical gearboxes for these demanding applications.
