High-Speed Gearboxes
As electric motors, drive systems and test equipment continue to develop, the demand for gearboxes capable of operating at increasingly high rotational speeds continues to grow. This is particularly evident in the testing and development of electric vehicle motors and transmissions, where modern test rigs must operate safely, reliably and consistently under extreme speed conditions.
Application requirements of up to 30,000 r/min are now becoming increasingly common. Speeds that were once considered impractical are now a routine part of advanced testing and development programmes. Through ongoing advances in gear design, bearing technology and lubrication systems, Tandler has developed the expertise and manufacturing capability to engineer gearboxes that deliver the stability, precision and durability required in these demanding environments.
Every high-speed gearbox we supply is designed specifically for the application. High-Torque Gearboxes
Tandler’s standard spiral bevel gearboxes offer rated torques of up to 10,000 Nm, covering the majority of industrial and testing applications. However, some operating environments demand substantially higher torque capacity, beyond the limits of a standard catalogue solution.
To meet these more demanding requirements, we offer high-torque gearbox solutions based on our proven design principles. Depending on the application, this may involve modified gearing, upgraded bearing arrangements, reinforced shafts, or the development of a fully bespoke gearbox engineered to suit the specific duty.
High-torque gearboxes are most commonly required in lower-speed applications, although this is not always the case. Whatever the operating conditions, Tandler has the capability to design and manufacture both right-angle and helical (parallel shaft) gearbox solutions that combine high strength with the precision, durability and reliability expected in demanding service.
Where possible, we build on existing catalogue platforms rather than developing an entirely new system from the outset. This approach can provide a more efficient route to a high-torque solution while retaining the benefits of a proven gearbox design.
